Meet Karthik + Deepti
Our Story
We currently live and work in the New York City area for the last 10 years. We grew up in the city of Bengaluru which is India's "Silicon Valley," a vibrant metropolis known for its tech industry. We met when we were 19 while studying engineering. We became best friends first, and then it slowly hit us that this was something much bigger. We love the same music bands, food and love to cook together. We always imagined a future where we’d get married young, have kids, and watch them grow while we were still full of energy.
But life had its own ideas. A major accident right after college turned everything upside down. It took us years to recover emotionally, but we did it together, step by step.
Since then, we’ve lived in Dubai, Singapore, Charlotte, and now New York. Each move gave us new memories, new friends, and a lot of growth. We even managed to get our master’s degrees while working full time. We laugh about how we just kept going to school because somehow, we liked the chaos.
Today, our life is centered around our very goofy golden retriever named Duke. He truly thinks he runs the house. He loves people, especially kids (lies down and lets them belly rub) and he is beyond ready to have a little human to follow around and pawtect. We have a close group of friends here, and all of them have young kids. We can easily imagine our child playing with them, being part of their circle, and having a little tribe from the very beginning.
Becoming parents hasn’t been simple for us. It has taken much longer than we thought it would. But instead of giving up, it has only made the dream stronger for both of us. We feel so ready now for the noise, the mess, the late-night feedings, the tiny socks everywhere, and all the joy that comes with raising a child.
We want to raise someone who is kind, curious, and confident. Someone who isn’t afraid to explore their own interests, and who also understands what it means to help others and be part of a community. We want to share our culture, our travels, our silly traditions, and our love for learning.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who is helping us become parents. The woman who donated her egg gave us a chance we never thought we’d have. And the woman who helps us carry this baby into the world will always have a special place in our hearts. We respect what surrogates do more than we can ever properly express.
Thank you for taking the time to read about us and to consider being part of our journey. If chosen, we will give our child a life filled with love, support, and every opportunity to thrive. It means so much to us.
Meet Karthik
About Karthik (In Deepti’s words)— Karthik is a very calm, quiet person. He is a man of few words but big actions. In a room full of people, he is always very gracious to meet everyone but also be in his own world. He is a very well-read person, often visits Barnes and Nobles (his fav place). Karthik always is a kind person , despite my troubles with health and fertility, never judged me and always stood like a pillar. He always knows what brings a smile on my face and does it like small Flowers from trader joes or slice of chocolate cake with hot cup of coffee. I am lucky to have him in my life.
Meet Deepti
About Deepti (In Karthik’s words)— When I saw Deepti, I knew that she was my soulmate. She has taught me how to be kind and generous. She brings happiness into the lives of many people. She is the kind of person who can light up any room with just her presence. I was lucky to have the chance to spend my life with her. Deepti is very good with people as is always someone who is dependable and someone whom her friends can rely on for help or emotional support. With her wide network of friends, she always manages to help out people when they need something. I always wanted her to be a mother as I wanted to see more of her qualities in this world, she represents the very best of human values and its people like her that make this world a better place to live in. My only wish is that I could help in making her dream of becoming a mother come true. Fell in love date Aug 1999. When I first laid my eyes on Deepti I knew it was meant to be !
Why Surrogacy?
In 2019 in a span of 6 months we lost Deepti's dad and my dad, we acted swiftly and visited the best IVF Doctor (we had less time to waste) since then its been 4 Doctors but no child. Deepti had a tiny fibroid removal of that in 2018 left her with a scar in uterus. Since then, she has had 5 Hysteroscopy’s to clear scar and one major Myomectomy for removal of large fibroid in 2023. Additionally in 2020 the covid vaccine affected Deepti and put her in Perimenopause and started emptying the ovary without eggs. Given the long road of pain and suffering we are finally ready to walk the surrogacy path. Deepti was a part of the intended surrogacy group, and she found awaits <3. We are eternally grateful for this opportunity to have a little one in our lives.
