Casey Brown,
Founder, Executive Director
As Founder and Executive Director of Await Surrogacy, Casey has dedicated more than 16 years to helping build families through both adoption and surrogacy. Before founding Await Surrogacy, she spent eight years as the founder of South Carolina's largest adoption agency, helping hundreds of families navigate the adoption process. Today, she continues that same mission through surrogacy, combining years of experience with a deeply personal understanding of what it means to long for a child.
After experiencing 14 years of unexplained infertility, Casey understands the emotional weight of the family-building journey from both a professional and personal perspective. She is the proud mom of five incredible children—four who joined her family through adoption and one who arrived after an unexpected miracle pregnancy. In 2026, she also had the privilege of becoming a gestational surrogate, giving another family the opportunity to welcome their long-awaited baby.
Casey believes that every family deserves to feel supported, informed, and genuinely cared for throughout their journey. Whether she's guiding intended parents through the matching process, supporting surrogates through each milestone, or simply being a listening ear during difficult moments, her goal is to ensure every family feels like they have someone walking beside them every step of the way.
Josh Brown,
Operations Director
With nearly two decades of experience as a Registered Nurse, paramedic, and SWAT medic, Josh brings a calm, steady presence and exceptional leadership to Await Surrogacy. Throughout his healthcare career, he has cared for patients during some of life's most critical moments, developing the ability to think quickly, solve complex problems, and provide reassurance when it matters most.
As Operations Director, Josh oversees the systems and processes that keep Await Surrogacy running smoothly behind the scenes. From building relationships with fertility clinics and coordinating with our team to reviewing medical records, supporting the screening process, and helping guide the agency's continued growth, his attention to detail and commitment to excellence ensure that every journey receives the care it deserves.
Although much of his work happens behind the scenes, Josh is deeply invested in every family and surrogate we serve. His servant's heart, unwavering integrity, and passion for helping others make him an invaluable part of the Await Surrogacy team and a trusted resource throughout the family-building journey.
Dana Smith,
Client Services Coordinator
Dana is the proud mom of two wonderful children, Emersyn and Grady, and a two-time gestational surrogate. She began her first surrogacy journey in 2022, helping welcome a healthy baby girl into the world. During her second journey in 2024, she experienced the heartbreak of a miscarriage at eight weeks. In an unexpected and beautiful turn of events, the intended mother conceived naturally shortly afterward and was able to carry her own baby.
Having experienced both the incredible joy and the profound heartbreak that can accompany a surrogacy journey, Dana brings a level of empathy and understanding that cannot be taught. She knows firsthand the emotions, uncertainty, and hope that surrogates experience, allowing her to support them with genuine compassion every step of the way.
As our Client Support & Logistics Coordinator, Dana helps ensure that both intended parents and surrogates feel informed, supported, and cared for throughout their journey. From coordinating travel and sending welcome packages to checking in with families and helping connect them with the right team members, she plays an essential role in creating the exceptional experience Await Surrogacy is known for. Her kind heart, calming presence, and dedication to our families make her an invaluable part of the Await team.
LeAnn Valdez,
Intake Coordinator
LeAnn is a devoted wife, proud mom, and a two-time gestational surrogate who is currently preparing for her third surrogacy journey. Having personally experienced the life-changing impact of surrogacy, she understands the excitement, uncertainty, and countless questions that often come with taking those first steps. Her firsthand experience allows her to connect with prospective surrogates in a genuine and meaningful way, offering encouragement and reassurance from someone who has truly been in their shoes.
As Await Surrogacy's Intake Coordinator, LeAnn is often the very first person future surrogates meet. She guides them through the beginning of their journey by answering questions, learning about their goals and motivations, helping determine whether surrogacy is the right fit, and ensuring they feel informed and supported from day one. Her approachable personality and compassionate heart help create a welcoming experience that sets the tone for the rest of their journey.
Before joining Await Surrogacy, LeAnn built a career in customer service, where she developed a passion for building relationships and helping others navigate important decisions with confidence. She is honored to combine those skills with her personal surrogacy experience to help future surrogates take the first step toward changing a family's life forever.
Ashley Frady,
Surrogacy Coordinator
Ashley has been part of the Await Surrogacy family since the very beginning and has played an integral role in helping shape the compassionate, relationship-centered experience our families know today. As our Surrogacy Coordinator, she is often one of the first people our surrogates build a relationship with, and her calm, encouraging nature helps them feel supported through every step of their journey.
Ashley is the proud mom of three wonderful children and a two-time gestational surrogate, having helped one family welcome a singleton and another welcome twins. During her twin journey, she experienced preterm labor at 27 weeks and spent the next 87 days walking alongside the intended mother in the NICU. That experience gave her a profound appreciation for the emotional, medical, and relational aspects of the surrogacy journey and inspired her passion for supporting families during life's most vulnerable moments.
Ashley earned her Bachelor's Degree in Child and Family Studies from Converse University and completed her senior internship with Await Surrogacy. Thankfully for us, she never left. Today, she guides our surrogates through screening, medical appointments, matching, and beyond, ensuring they always have someone in their corner. Her compassionate heart, thoughtful guidance, and unwavering dedication make her an irreplaceable part of the Await Surrogacy team.
