Meet Daniel + Ilyce

Our Story

We're so excited to be on this journey!! We are a Christian couple, who love the Lord and we intend to raise our baby to love the Lord too. We have been friends since high school, dated for 5 years before getting married in 2016. We love sports, Daniel loves football, Ilyce loves baseball, and although we don’t necessarily care for each others sports, we will never say no to a sporting event! We love concerts and often travel to Raleigh or Nashville to visit family. Daniel loves researching.. Everything! Anything and everything that he finds interesting he’ll know all the facts in a few minutes! Ilyce is more crafty, she has a craft room full of projects and loves to refinish furniture! We have a 9 year old dog, Belle, she is our baby currently but she can’t wait to be a big sister!!

About Daniel (In Ilyce’s words)—Daniel is the most selfless person I have ever known. He constantly sees the brightside and always looks for the silver lining. He loves extravagantly, meaning he will go over and above to show you he cares. His love for the Lord is tangible, he loves loving Jesus. He’s funny and a bit sarcastic but that’s what makes him endearing. I love him, more than I can express, but I live my life trying to be the best version of me for him. He deserves the world, and I love that his determination and work ethic is so that he will go for the world and he will conquer it! He is going to make a wonderful dad, and I can’t wait to watch him teach and guide our baby to grow to be the best they can be too!

Meet Ilyce

About Ilyce (In Danielʻs words)—It is going to be really hard for me to be able to describe just who my lovely wife is in just a few sentences (since I could write endless papers on her). From when I first laid eyes on her, I knew something was off. Not in a bad way, but a wonderful, new exciting way. One that I knew would be a part of me for the rest of my life. From just knowing her for a few months, I knew I was going to marry her one day (I even told my parents that my senior year in high school before they told me to take life slow.) Fast forward 5 years, and after years of courting Ilyce, I asked her to spend the rest of our lives together. She is literally the other half. For who I am not, she is. For all the mistakes I’ve made over my life, she has shown me the good. I am constantly thanking God for blessing me with the woman that I fit perfectly with, spiritually, emotionally, physically. She knows exactly how I am feeling, and knows just what to say and do to make me a better person. No matter what, we always respect one another, seeing each other as equals in this marriage, with our own ways of bringing the best out of each other. No matter what, I always place her wellbeing above my own, making sure she is taken care of before myself. We see eye to eye on just about everything. The way she treats Belle (our dog daughter) shows me how she is naturally a mom at heart, and can’t imagine nurturing and raising a child of our own together one day. We build each other up, and she allows me to continually grow into the best godly man I can be for her each and every day.

How We Met

 We met at a restaurant called  Rattlers BBQ in California. He worked in take out, and she was a hostess who “took his breath away at the first sight of her” (per Daniel’s wording).

Why Surrogacy?

Ilyce has to take medication daily that would be harmful for her and the baby should she have chosen to carry herself. And while Ilyce would love to carry herself, we need someone special, someone who will love our baby as much as we do. And we know the Lord is going to bring the right woman along, with the right family and support that He perfectly designed for us.

Fun Facts 

Daniel will make a joke anytime he can, he’s always looking to make other people laugh! Ilyce will never say no to Starbucks, often knowing exactly where in the city, state, and country we are, all by knowing the locations of where Starbucks are to our location.

Occupations: 

Daniel has been working at 24 hour CVS pharmacy as Lead Pharmacy Technician for almost 13 years, often training new hires, providing vaccinations, and treating every customer as if they were family. Ilyce owns her own business, located in a consignment store, selling vintage farmhouse decor, furniture and handmade wreaths.

Favorite Team: 

Daniel loves the NFL football team, the Atlanta Falcons (and the Philadelphia Eagles in honor of his late little brother).

 Ilyce loves the MLB baseball team, the Los Angeles Dodgers.

They both also are fans of the NHL hockey teams, the  LA Kings and Carolina Hurricanes.
