Meet Evan + Alexandra

Our Story

We are a married couple living in Tampa, Florida, with our two dogs, Daisy and Yoshi. Over the past eight years of our relationship (five years married), we’ve been blessed to travel together to many countries, including China, Japan, South Korea, France, and Portugal, and with each trip, we’ve grown closer. We dream of the day we can share those adventures with our future child. As true coffee lovers, weekends often find us exploring new coffee shops and reading our favorite books. We live in a beautiful, safe suburban neighborhood filled with families, where children walk with their parents to the nearby elementary school. On slow weekend mornings, we love sitting on our porch chairs, watching Daisy and Yoshi play in the fenced-in front yard, and sharing plenty of laughs together. We are also blessed with a strong community of family and friends who are eager to welcome our bundle of joy, hopefully in the near future. We can’t wait to embark on this next adventure!

Meet Evan

About Evan (In Alexandra’s words)—Evan is the most peaceful and kind person I’ve ever known. When I first met him, I felt a tug in my soul that this would be my future husband and, praise God, I was right. To know Evan is to know someone who strives to bring people from all walks of life and backgrounds and to simply have a good time together. I never thought I would be blessed enough to marry someone who is so rooted in his identity in Christ and encourages us to pray not only in the good moments, but also in the hard times. He has stuck with me and never once complained through multiple health prognoses and the twists of turns of IVF. I know he will provide that same sense of calm and understanding as a father. I’m so thankful to call him my husband (and the future father of my children)!

Meet Alexandra

About Alexandra (In Evan’s words)— Alexandra is the strongest person I know. She would never think this way about herself, but the way she has handled hardship makes me so proud to be her husband. The night I met Alexandra, I called my brother and told him I had met someone truly special. Her strong faith has really inspired me to become a better man and husband, especially during this IVF journey. She brings so much joy each day, regardless of what she’s doing. On the rainy days, she is truly the sunshine that is always willing to dance and laugh to raise my spirits. I’m confident she’s going to be an incredible mother, as she’s already been in a caretaker role for her sickly mother and has never once complained in that role. I’m so grateful that she’s my wife!

How We Met:

We met in 2017 on a dating app called Coffee Meets Bagel, which we felt was more serious than the others at the time. Our very first date was at a coffee shop, where we unexpectedly ran into Alexandra’s pastor and he gave us an enthusiastic thumbs up. We both took that as a very good sign. What was meant to be a quick coffee turned into more than three hours of conversation, storytelling, laughter, and simply enjoying each other’s company.

Why Surrogacy?

Alexandra was born with a rare condition in which her two kidneys are fused together, forming a horseshoe kidney. Instead of being located in the usual middle back region, her kidney sits in the front right side of her abdomen. This unusual placement puzzled both her OBGYN and nephrologist. After careful evaluation, they determined that carrying a child would cause severe, irreversible damage to her kidney due to the limited space needed for a successful pregnancy. As a result, in June 2025, Evan and Alexandra began the IVF process in hopes of welcoming a child soon.
