Meet Francis + Keturah
Our Story
We met in 2005 during our first semester at the University of Georgia. We had mutual friends but didn’t know each other. While at an on-campus party, Francis asked Keturah to dance and she said yes! After many dates at the dining hall, we officially became a couple 2 months later. After graduation, Keturah joined the military and Francis went to graduate school to become a healthcare provider. Over the years, our friendship and relationship grew stronger as we faced the challenges of military moves, deployments, exams, and traveling to see each other. We’ve now been happily married for 8 years and live in Colorado, where we joyfully serve in our community and a local church.
Meet Francis
About Francis (In Keturah’s words)— Francis is caring, considerate, and loves me with his whole heart. Francis is first-generation American with parents from Nigeria. His parents wanted him to marry someone of Nigerian descent; however, he pursued and married me despite his parents' disapproval. While they love and accept me now, I truly appreciate how Francis protected me and chose me regardless of what anyone thought. He is my best friend and I look forward to seeing how he protects and loves our future child as an amazing father.
Meet Keturah
About Keturah (In Francis’s words)— Keturah has a big heart, a firm sense of justice, and is very thoughtful. I knew she was special when we walked past a vehicle covered in toilet paper one night on campus. Due to the temperature changes in Georgia, the paper would've frozen to the car overnight. Keturah didn't know who owned the car, yet she took it upon herself to start removing the toilet paper so the car's paint job wouldn't be destroyed. I've loved her ever since and I know she’ll be an outstanding mother who seeks to always do right by our child.
Why Surrogacy?
After 7 years of fertility treatments and many failed embryo transfers, Keturah’s uterus was removed due to fibroids and severe adenomyosis in May 2024. We are fortunate to have embryos from the IVF process and surrogacy is our only chance to have biological children.
