Meet John + AnnLindsey

How We Met:

We were introduced to each other by our sisters during COVID. Our sisters are next-door-neighbors and close friends. We discovered that we lived only 6 houses away from each other. During the COVID lockdowns we would go on walks during our lunch breaks and then started to have dinner together. We just hit it off and knew we were meant to be! John laughs because Ann Lindsey’s sister told him not to date her, so he said “fine, I will marry her.” After 9 months of dating, we were engaged. And 4 months after that we became newlyweds. We married a little later in life, so knew what we were looking for in a partner, and we knew that we were right for each other. Our wedding was perfect for us, in John’s parent’s back yard with tents set up for weather. There was a string of tornados that came through the day of our wedding, so the tents ended up keeping everybody dry! We danced to the band, and tried to avoid the mud puddles. AnnLindsey’s dress was destroyed! It was a wonderful affair with our closest friends and family by our sides!

Meet John

About John (In AnnLindsey’s words)— I was at a neighborhood party recently and a lady I was speaking with said “You’re married to the funny guy!” And that pretty much summarizes John. John is a fun-loving man with a charismatic personality that draws people in. He is simply a good man, everyone loves him. My sisters joke that he is a dog and child whisperer, as both flock to him! Our nieces and nephews love spending time with him because he gets on their level. I can not wait to witness him in the role of dad. I know he will be a great mix of fun and strict, when necessary. He is the caregiver of our family and is always coming home with fun treats. Like my favorite snack, Cheetos. He thinks I hung the moon and treats me like an absolute queen. He is always asking if I need anything and loves to take care of me. John is incredibly smart. He is constantly wanting to learn new things and is always watching YouTube videos to learn more about whatever subject interests him now. He is a design engineer by trade, so he is an incredible problem-solver. I am so proud of him because, 10 years after graduating college, he decided to get his master’s degree. He is constantly helping our family fix things in their house or cars. He loves to tinker on everything and can fix anything around the house. He just started his own business building wood furniture. He really enjoys being outdoors – camping, fishing and just being in nature. He especially enjoys being next to any body of water, whether it be the lake, ocean or even a pond. He loves cars of all kinds, but mainly the aspects no one else cares about like their horsepower, engine size and what noise the engine makes. I never thought I would say this, but John makes cars sound so interesting, I am turning into a car person! We recently had a lot of fun going to Indy car races at a track near our house.

Meet AnnLindsey

About AnnLindsey (In John’s words)— Ann Lindsey has a radiant spirit, an excited passion for life, and has an unwavering kindness. She has a unique way of turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories. These are some of the many reasons I fell in love with my wife. But one trait of hers that really stood out to me was her determination and drive for success. I have never found someone that was more put together and ready for the day than her. I found myself constantly impressed with her, and honestly, I found myself trying to keep up with her. She is a wife that makes me better as a person and as a husband. I really could go on and on about everything I admire about her. In her career, Ann Lindsey has successfully navigated the corporate world. She is currently the manager of the tax department at her company. Her career has taken her all over the world. Ann Lindsey even got to live in India for a few months for work. However, her work ethic goes beyond her job and what she has accomplished for her company. Ann Lindsey also served our community as a junior member of the Junior Achievement Board, where she educated kids on topics such as fiscal responsibility. She is a social butterfly that keeps up with our neighbors, friends, and families. Someone who loves to travel and see what the world has to offer. She never misses a chance to hear live music, have friends over, or go dining out somewhere. I would have never experienced the exciting places I have been to, if not for her. I am excited to start a family with Ann Lindsey. She is a caring, giving, and patient woman. And without a shadow of a doubt, she will be a wonderful mom.

Why Surrogacy?

We have known since we got married that we wanted kids but unfortunately AnnLindsey is unable to have children. We want a child that has John’s DNA and so surrogacy is a good option. 

Fun Facts

Occupations: AnnLindsey is a tax accountant for an insurance company and John owns his own wood-working and cabinet installation business.  

Favorite Team: John loves the Auburn Tigers and AnnLindsey is a huge University of Alabama fan! House Divided!!
