Date and result of most recent pap smear: Has an appointment scheduled for July 1, 2025. When she was 18, was dx with HPV but the next one was cleared. Has not had HPV since then.
Has received the flu vaccine and the Pfizer Covid vaccine.
About Melissa
Melissa is a 37 year old, married, caucasian female who has no preference in the family she will carry for. Melissa lives in Simpsonville, SC with her husband Kyle and their three children.
Melissa is 5’1” and weighs 138 pounds and has a BMI of 26.1. She speaks English and is a US Citizen. Melissa describes herself as a bit of an introvert. She stated that she is a homebody but enjoys animals, hiking and being with her family.
Melissa has insurance through her husband’s place of employment. It has been reviewed and should cover a surrogacy pregnancy. It has a max out of pocket of $6,000 with a co-insurance of 15%.
Melissa is a child welfare case manager. She has been in this profession for 14 months. She works 40 hours a week and makes $47,000 a year with her pay increasing to $54,000 in April 2026. Her husband Kyle, is a tool developer for Harbor Freight. He makes $72,000 a year.
Melissa attended Fountain Valley High School in California. She graduated in 2006. She later attended Moorpark College where she graduated with her Associates in Arts in 2020. She received her Bachelors of Arts in 2021 from California State University and later her Masters of Social Work in 2023 from Delaware State University.
Melissa has been a surrogate but has never donated eggs. Melissa has had four pregnancies and has never had an abortion or a miscarriage. Melissa has never placed a child for adoption and does not have any deceased children. Her first child, a son, was born on October 27, 2011. He weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces and was born at 36 weeks 4 days. Her second child, a daughter, was born on August 7, 2016. She weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was born at 37 weeks 3 days. Her third delivery was a surrogacy pregnancy. She delivered a male on April 25, 2021. He weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces and was born at 38 weeks. The first transfer did not work. The second attempt, they transferred two embryos and one took. Her last delivery was another daughter. She was born on May 2, 2022. She weighed 6 pounds 10 ounces and was born at 37 weeks. Melissa states that there were no complications during her pregnancies or deliveries. All deliveries were vaginal deliveries. Melissa and Kyle have custody of all three children. All three children are healthy with no psychological problems. Melissa’s son does have ADHD. Melissa is not breastfeeding. She has gone through fertility treatments to become pregnant with the surrogacy journeys.
Melissa does not have a regular menstrual cycle due to the type of birth control she is on. She will be changing birth control at her next appointment. Melissa states that her mother did not take diethylstilbestrol (DES) while pregnant with her to the best of her knowledge.
Melissa does not know when her last pap smear was but it was normal. Melissa said that she has had an abnormal pap when she was 18 and was diagnosed with HPV. Since then she has had normal pap smears with no evidence of HPV. She has never been treated for HIV/AIDS. She has seen a psychologist with her surrogacy journeys. Melissa only takes birth control.
Melissa does not smoke cigarettes. Melissa denies any drug use and occasionally drinks alcohol but never during pregnancy. Melissa has never used any illegal drugs. Melissa has never been diagnosed with any of the following: hepatitis C, HIV, hepatitis B, herpes, genital warts/sores, syphilis or gonorrhea.
Melissa does not have any legal claims/cases pending at this time. She has never been arrested or had conflicts with the law, been convicted of a felony, been accused and/or convicted of child abuse or spousal abuse, lost custody of a child, been in a substance abuse program, or declared bankruptcy.
Melissa has no preference in the family that she carries for. She is open to being a surrogate for a family that lives outside of the USA. Melissa is open to matching with a family of a different religion. She is not willing to give up pork or beef products due to religious beliefs. Melissa stated that she wants to do another surrogacy journey because she loved being pregnant and knows that they are done growing their family. She would like to help grow another family.
Melissa is willing to have a selective reduction, abortion, or an early termination for any reason that the Intended Parents choose. She is willing to have an amniocentesis done. She is willing to carry twins but is not willing to carry triplets. She is only willing to transfer two embryos at a time if they are genetically tested. She is comfortable with the Intended Parents taking pictures during this journey. She is comfortable with the intended parents being at doctors appointments, and being in the delivery room. She states that she is open to as much communication as the Intended Parents need. Melissa would like contact after birth if the Intended Parents feel the same.
Melissa has received the flu vaccine and the Covid vaccine and is willing to get the booster if needed.
When asked what she plans to do with the money she earns from becoming a surrogate she states that she will use it for their new house projects and to further her husband’s education.
