Meet Brad + Chandler

About Us

We are Chandler and Brad B from Greenville, SC. We are pursuing surrogacy after I, Chandler, was diagnosed with fibroids classified as STUMP, which stands for smooth muscle tumor of unknown malignant potential. Following this diagnosis, I was also found to have Hereditary Leiomyomatosis and Renal Cell Cancer syndrome (HLRCC), which increases my risk of developing kidney cancer and is associated with multiple large uterine fibroids. Based on these findings, my physicians recommended a hysterectomy to eliminate the possibility that additional fibroids could also be STUMPs. While surrogacy was not part of our original plan, we are profoundly grateful to the incredible women who make this journey possible.

Brad, 34, was born in Toledo, OH and raised in Greenville, SC, from the age of five. Chandler, 33, was born in Florence, South Carolina, and raised in Greenville, SC from the age of six. Brad ran collegiate cross country/track at Belmont Abbey College near Charlotte before earning both his bachelor’s degree and MBA from Clemson University. He currently works as an engineer at BMW, where he has been employed for eight years. I played Division I tennis at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, later lived in Boston for several years, and ultimately returned to Greenville. I also currently serve as the Director of Operations of BaselineGVL, a new indoor pickleball facility opening in Greenville in April.

We both attended St. Joseph’s Catholic High School which is where we first met, though we reconnected through mutual friends several years later. We started dating in 2020 and were excitingly married on New Year’s Eve of 2023. Shortly afterward, we began the IVF process and were fortunate to create nine healthy embryos.

We are both active, outgoing individuals who enjoy spending time outdoors. During the summer, a typical weekend for us includes visiting the Greenville Farmers Market on Saturday mornings, spending the afternoon wakesurfing on Lake Keowee, and getting dinner with friends or family afterwards. We have a golden retriever named Wrigley, who brings endless joy to our lives. We also enjoy cycling on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, playing pickleball, and taking walks with Wrigley around our neighborhood.

We are fortunate to have a strong support system in Greenville. Brad’s parents and sister live nearby, as does my Mom. We are also surrounded by a close-knit group of friends who have been incredibly supportive — including throwing us a surprise embryo party!

We are more than ready to add Baby B to our adventures and we are so thankful for the opportunity to grow our family in this way.

We are excited and hopeful as we go through this surrogacy journey!

Why Surrogacy?

We are pursuing surrogacy as I had fibroids that were considered STUMP which means smooth muscle tumor of unknown malignant potential. Because of this I was also diagnosed with Hereditary Leiomyoma and Renal Cell Cancer which means I am at a higher disposition of developing kidney cancer in addition to having multiple large uterine myomas(fibroids). It was recommended that I have a hysterectomy to remove any chances that additional fibroids were STUMPS as well. I’m currently 4 weeks post op and feel 100 times better! While surrogacy was not our original plan, we couldn’t be more grateful to the women that make surrogacy possible.
