Meet Mike + Lauren
Our Story
We’ve always dreamed of building a family together—one that will outlast us and fill our lives with love and laughter. While the journey to parenthood is daunting, we believe it will be worth every step.
Unfortunately, Lauren is unable to carry a pregnancy, and surrogacy provides the best option for us to have a child of our own. We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity and the amazing individuals who make it possible.
Though we’ve talked about having one or two children, we plan to start with one and see how life unfolds. For now, it’s just the two of us, plus our two small dogs, who are an important part of our little family!
Meet Mike
About Mike (In Lauren’s words)—Mike is the world’s best dog-dad and the heart of our family unit. He’s funny, loving, and endlessly supportive. As a strong provider, he works hard to ensure our family has everything we need.
When he’s not working, Mike stays active and athletic. He loves playing video games, financial planning, watching Naval Academy football, and catching up on TV shows. Working from home most days, he takes wonderful care of our two dogs—and I know he’ll bring the same dedication to fatherhood.
Meet Lauren
About Lauren (In Mike’s words)— Lauren is one of the most thoughtful and caring people I’ve ever met. She’s close to her family and friends, always making time to maintain her relationships.
Lauren is smart, artistic, fashionable, and career-driven. She loves traveling, indulging in classic Disney movies, celebrating Halloween, and enjoying meals out with friends. She’s also a big fan of Harry Potter and comedy TV shows like The Office.
She raised our two dogs on her own before we met, and her devotion to them shows just how selfless and nurturing she is. I know she’ll be an amazing mom!
How We Met
Our story began at a Halloween party, where Lauren showed up in a glamorous Venetian masquerade costume, and Mike was dressed as Donkey Kong alongside his friends as Mario Kart characters.
Despite the costume contrast, we hit it off immediately over great conversation and shared interests. That night marked the start of a wonderful journey together, and we haven’t looked back since!
Why Surrogacy?
Lauren is unable to carry a pregnancy, but surrogacy offers us the incredible chance to become first-time parents and have a child of our own. We’re deeply thankful that this option exists and for the amazing people who make it possible through their generosity and compassion.
Fun Facts
Occupations: Mike served in the US Navy and now works as a government contractor. Lauren works for the Department of Energy.
Favorite hobby: Playing video games together and walking our dogs.
Clinic: New England Fertility Institute.
Embryos: Not yet created; we’re hoping to have them early next year.
Timeline for transfer: Within the next 3–6 months.
