About Shayna
Shayna is a 36 year old white female who is hoping to become a surrogate. Shayna lives in Anderson County, SC with her husband, Nick, and their son. She has 3 airports close to her: Greenville, Charlotte, and Atlanta.
Shayna is 5’10” and weighs 180 pounds and has a BMI of 25.8. She speaks English and is a US Citizen. Shayna is a very calm person who loves anything outdoors, arts and crafts, and Jeeps.
Shayna has Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance through her employer and we will be sending it off for assessment.
Shayna is a full time mail carrier with the US Post Office. She works from 7 am to 1 pm 6 days a week. She has been with them since 2018, with the exception of a break in 2021 when she joined the US Army for a short period of time.
Shayna graduated from Riverside High school in California in 2008. She then earned her Associates Degree of Arts from Greenville Technical College in 2014.
Shayna has never been a surrogate and has never donated eggs. Shayna has had one pregnancy and has never had an abortion or a miscarriage. Shayna has never placed a child for adoption and does not have any deceased children. She does have 4 stepchildren (2 sets of twins). Her husband and his ex-wife conceived both sets of twins via IVF and share 50/50 custody and are on great terms. Shayna reports that she had an easy pregnancy with her son. He was born vaginally at 40+2 weeks gestation via induction. He weighed 7 pounds and 2 ounces. Shayna reports having a slightly elevated blood pressure reading at her OB appointment that day and the doctor decided to induce her since she was already past her due date. Her son does not have any physical health problems or any psychological or behavioral problems. Shayna has never gone through fertility treatment to become pregnant. She has never delivered a stillborn baby.
Shayna does have regular menstrual cycles. Her cycles are approximately 28 days apart and last for 5 days on average. Shayna does not know if her mother took diethylstillbestrol (DES) while pregnant with her.
Shayna’s last pap smear was conducted in April 2025 and was normal. She had an abnormal pap smear at her first pregnancy OB appointment but the doctor recommended no intervention and simple repeat after birth which was normal. She has never been treated for HIV/AIDS or any STD. Shayna has never suffered from depression and has never been prescribed psychiatric medications. Shayna has only been hospitalized for the birth of her child. Her blood type is A+.
Shayna does not smoke cigarettes or use any smokeless tobacco. Shayna denies any drug use. Shayna has never used any illegal drugs. Neither Shayna or her husband Nick have ever been diagnosed with any of the following: gonorrhea, hepatitis C, HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B, herpes, genital warts/sores, or anemia. Shayna exercises daily and has never had an eating disorder. She states that they drink socially but she will not drink during her pregnancy or while on fertility medications and attempting to prepare her body for pregnancy.
Neither Shayna nor her husband have any legal claims/cases pending at this time. Neither have been arrested or had conflicts with the law, been convicted of a felony, been accused and/or convicted of child abuse or spousal abuse, lost custody of a child, been in a substance abuse program, or declared bankruptcy.
Shayna has discussed becoming a surrogate with her husband, friends, and family members and has a great support system. She has no concerns about sharing her surrogacy journey with her children and states that there isn’t anyone that she is aware of that is against her desire to become a surrogate.
Shayna plans to save the money she earns from being a surrogate.
Shayna is very open to whom she is willing to carry for. She is open to carrying for a heterosexual couple, homosexual couple, a family of any race, and a family with children or without children, Christian, non-Christian, and single parents. She would love to help a family who has gone through immense struggles and lengths to achieve parenthood. It would mean the world to her to help someone in need and make their dreams come true.
Shayna is ok with having selective reduction if her life is in danger. She is okay leaving termination rights up to the parents but will not terminate for cosmetic reasons. Shayna is ok with an amniocentesis if deemed necessary by a doctor. Shayna states that she is ok with the intended parents being in the room and being at the hospital so they can take custody of the baby as soon as he/she is born. She wishes for communication and updates after delivery . Shayna is open to the intended parents joining her at doctor appointments (in person if local and via Zoom or Facetime if not able to make it in person) and taking pictures throughout their journey together.
